Story of what happens to our bodies after we die. I found this book strangely funny at times and horrifying and nauseating.
I just couldn't get into this book. The movie either. It was too blahhhh for me.
See my reivew for Wicked. Same type of thing here. Although this book is a lot better than Wicked, but I still think I haven't finished it yet.
I tried so hard to like this book. Really I did. Unfortunately it just didn't mesh. Maybe I didn't GET it. I found this book slightly boring, I read through it without really reading it. The entire concept of this book is really cool though and I found myself feeling sorry for Elphaba the little green girl. Too bad I'll never read it again.
Man. Ok I'm gonna be vulnerable here and say that this is the only book that has made me cry (the movie sucked btw). This book makes you think of your own life and how our actions effect and impact others. Tidbit - this books makes no reference to God or religion, which is strange considering the entire book is about heaven and death.
People say the original German version is better; I can't read German so you're stuck with my review of the English one. I loved this book, and still do. It's a classic childhood book of mine and I'll continue to read it over and over again. The book is 100 times better than the movie, although the movie is great too.
A great book that continues where the first one left off. Not really sure if everything in this book is the truth, I'd call it more fiction, but still a great emotional touching story of friends who develop into a father/son relationship. But darn it! I still want to know what exactly Leonard does for a living!!!!
I loved the plot of this book. However, the actual read was on the verge of boring. The author gave tooooo much (un-needed)description/information which doesn't help the book, in fact it makes it repeatitive and boring. I found myself skipping ahead a lot. However I did enjoy it and found myself unable to put the book down (maybe I was hoping it would get better?)
This was a little hard for me to get into only because it was a hard read. Maybe because it is a translation? Anyhow great great story of a loveless marriage that ends in a love affair.
I enjoyed the author's other book, The Secret Life of Bees, much better. Athough this book is still a great read.
A must read chick book. It tells a great, and often time humorous, story about 4 very different pregnant woman and how their lives intertwine as the birth of their children nears.
