On May 15th in the Jungle of Nool, Horton, an elephant, hears voices speaking to him from a speck of dust; on the speck of dust is a tiny world called Who-ville where the tiny Whos live. Horton takes the responsibility to protect the tiny Whos even though none of his jungle friends believe the Whos exist. Horton doesn't give up, and eventually one child Who named Jojo makes all the difference for the tiny Whos to be loud enough that all the jungle characters can hear them and decide to help protect the Whos. This is an excellent book for children of all elementary ages to discuss concepts of bravery, determination, and friendship! http://www.seussville.com/ has games, educational information, and other resources for teachers using any Dr. Seuss book.
