1984 was a good book. It started off really slow but by the second section of the book, it began to get better. Winston felt oppressed by the party that didnt allow them to express their thoughts and emotions. Everything was ruled by Big Brother. Everyone followed Big Brother and it was against the rules to go against him. Winston didn't like this lifestyle so he rebelled against it. He wrote a diary expressing what he truley felt about Big Brother and how much he hated this totalitariansm system. Through out his rebellion, he found love. Winston was going against all of Big Brothers rules. He soon got caught and was tortured in every way possible. All the pain he was put through later resulted in him finding love for Big Brother like the rest of the society. I didn't really like the ending because I was predicting that he would find an end to Big Brother but he didn't and he ended up in a sad and hopeless ending.
The Killers Tears brought so many different emotions to me. It was sad and loving at the same time. Paolo lived with his parents in Chile when Angel came across them and killed his parents but left Paolo alive. Angel stayed in Paolo's home and they both bonded and learned to care for eachother, despite the fact that Angel was the murderer of Paolo's parents. Paolo begins to love him and see him as a father. Angel also cares for Paolo and he soon realizes he cannot live with him. Later on, Angel's crimes came back to him which tore Paolo and Angel apart. The ending was so sad to me because I could feel the inmense love they both shared for eachother. This book brought tears to my eyes but I really recomend it because I can say it was one of the best books I've ever read.
