Excellent thriller told from a clear and concise storyline. Too many thrillers these days drown with way too many details and this stayed simple right from the start.
Ok once I got into it but too many characters, and victims and the murderers with two similar names that I had a hard time with.

The premise to this was promising however the middle seemed to drag and the ending where they found out how the sisters were related felt very rushed. The epilogue at the end of the book only was for Reagan at a pivotal point in her life. However, there was no similar epilogue for Serenity and Lorelei and their stories were not similarly wrapped up. A real disappointment to just be left hanging, not sure why the author didn’t tie up their storylines.

I really liked the concept of this book and I really wanted to like this book. I originally gave this 4 stars but after starting a new book today (Nancy Thayer) and reading it for a while it made me realize how mentally exhausted this book made me and I came back to change my rating. The pace was very frenetic and the character Laila was exuberant to the point of exhausting me. I had to keep putting the book down and taking a break whereas the new book I started, I was able to keep focused and keep reading. Everything in this book takes place in about a weeks time, maybe two and from start to finish everything was just too fast
paced and in my opinion to the point it detracted from the overall story.

I really wanted to like this book but the lead character Frankie was just not a very like-able person. The entire book was her sticking her nose where it didn’t belong in the misguided pretense of being “helpful”. Creating a dating profile for her friend without telling him, telling her employee she needed a makeover, getting her daughter a job offer she didn’t want. This had the potential to be a good book but main character was just way too annoying.
I’ve enjoyed Lisa Scottiline’s later books. They’ve all been very well written but I was very disappointed in this first work. She definitely has gotten better at storytelling. This felt very disjointed. There were a lot of sections of this book that felt very unrelevant to the entire story. The abortion she got, going to the convent to see her sister, the whole catholic piece in general. Not one of her better books.

I don’t find anything entertaining about violence towards animals even in a fictional novel. Including wild animals. I continued reading this when she killed the bear and used the skin as a rug. I continued reading when she killed the chipmunk and roasted it over the fire. I continued reading when she slit the rabbits throat, even though her father preferred to hit it against a tree. I finally said enough was enough when she killed a pregnant deer, cut the newborn from its belly and proceeded to kill it. I wasn’t even halfway through the book and enough was enough. I didn’t finish reading the book but I can’t imagine what purpose the horrific detailed killings would add to the story. For the purpose of her history in tracking?? Ok, maybe. But there was no need to go into such graphic information. This was only a 1/2 star for me and I would definitely not recommend this book for any animal lovers.

75 pages in and gave up. This is a terribly written book and too wordy, using words that are not commonly used in literature or conversation (totally unnecessary and added nothing to the story line, also used the word pendantic on page 36 when the correct word is pedantic). Way too much time spent on details about a parking space and still didn’t address what the plot of the book should be after 75 pages in. I’ll be giving this author a pass in the future.

I’ve read a number of Sarah Morgan’s books and usually I love them. However, I had a hard time with this book. The main character Joanna was hiding from the press and the whole premise just really seemed to drag the book down and it was very slow moving. It had the obligatory happy ending but it seemed like it was never going to happen.

A bit of a disappointment compared to the other books I’ve read by Ruth Ware. I was left with more questions than answers when the book ended.

There were multiple sub plots to this book that just seemed far fetched and implausible. Two different people under house arrest in the same building. Neither one of them working, but live in Manhattan in a building described as having Nannie’s and housekeepers??? I suppose it’s possible they have plenty in savings but if thats the case then why did Perry do something as stupid as stealing a tea pot lid to bring the cost down of the service when he can so obviously afford it. I realize it’s a fictional story where anything is possible but I had a hard time moving past my disbelief on multiple parts of the story.

This was a fictional novel based on the life of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis. The fact that this was fiction but based on her life was just too distracting as throughout the book I kept wondering where the line was drawn between fact and fiction. If this had been a story with random characters I believe I would have enjoyed it much more than I did.
The first quarter of this book is original, but once you get past the 1/4 point, it starts to mirror the authors other book, What Becomes of the Broken Hearted which was told from Greg’s point of view. This book is telling it from Mallory’s point of view but it’s pretty much the same information already read in the other book. Very disappointing, and I didn’t continue to read much further past where the two stories come together. Read one or the other, but not both.

I really struggled with this book at the beginning. It got off to a very slow start, and I had a hard time connecting with the characters. I was tempted to give up on it, but I continued on and by halfway thru, I had warmed up to it and by the very end really loved it. There were some plot twists that I really didn't see coming that ended up making a big impact at the ending of the book.

I first read Everyone Else's Girl by Megan Crane which I really enjoyed. When I saw this book of hers I thought I couldn't go wrong, it's set in England which is one of my favorite places. I couldn't have been more wrong. This was a very disappointing book with unlikeable characters, and a very weak plot. I've read 2/3 of the book and all the main character has done is write papers, drink a lot, smoke and some issues with her classmates. After reading the reviews there seems to be little reason to finish the book since it doesn't seem to improve any by the end.

I gave this book more than a 200 page chance and for the life of me could not get into it. The writing seemed very choppy, alternating between the past and present day. Also, I couldn't get invested in the characters; they were very uninteresting, lacked character development and in over 200 pages still couldn't understand where and what the story was leading. Disappointing, as I enjoyed some of her previous titles.

I really enjoyed the first book in the series, Beach Colors. A story of three women, friends since childhood, focusing on Margaux's story and her relationship with Nick. It seemed as though there was the potential for two other novels about Grace and Bri. Instead we get this book, two short stories about each of them and what a disappointment. Their stories were brief , less than 100 pages each, and felt rushed. I was really looking forward to two more great reads and instead was left feeling disappointed and wishing for a more thought out and better told story.
There were small things throughout the story that just seemed implausible and nagged at me throughout. For example, Frannie and Lisa both wait a few days before telling their parents about the shooting. It would seem a school shooting and the victims names would be plastered all over the news and at least one set of parents would have heard about it. Staying 10 days in the hospital for a clear through bullet wound. It was this and other small details that, added all together, just seemed like a story poorly put together.

While this was an interesting sorry, I'm glad I read a couple of her other books first. The main plot focused too much on religion and her struggles with her faith. However, her other books don't touch on the subject at all and were a much more enjoyable read.

I really enjoyed this book right up until the very end. I was so disappointed by the ending. Without giving too much away, it seemed to be building towards a happy ending, but was never fully resolved and very abruptly skipped to 8 months later. There seemed to be a big gap in story line in that 8 month time frame that was missing. I really wanted to give it 4 stars, but with the poor ending, I ended up giving it just 2.
All talk, no action. This has to be one of the worst books by Nelson Demille I've read, (or tried to read; it's so terrible I'm not even going to finish it). I'm almost 250 pages into a 600+ novel and the only action that has taken place are meetings, meetings and more meetings and John Corey's dialogue with himself (that gets old very fast) and colleagues. Apparently the plot of the story is to use John Corey and his wife as bait to try and catch the Panther in Yemen. However, there has been no character development and hardly any portion of the plot has been devoted to the Panther. I loved The Lion but this novel has been such a letdown. It makes one wonder if the author was paid based upon the word count rather than the content and quality of the writing.

The description from the back of the book states one sister begins keeping a secret that could forever change both their lives. I was expecting something a bit more earth shattering than what actually transpires. I felt the book was a bit dull, the characters never develop and the mystery that's promised never really turns into anything of significance.
This was a wonderful book, and took you on a mini tour through Europe. The story was delightfully told, and transported me to another time and place. It certainly made me wish I was on tour too. I really enjoyed this, and this would be a perfect story to turn into a movie. I couldn't help but cast characters as I was reading along.

This was an interesting story about the Amish way of life. If it wasn't a book about Christmas, I would consider it a beach read. I read it quite quickly and was fairly predictable. I'd probably read others by the same author, but only because I find the Amish story line interesting. If it wasn't for that, I would have thought I was reading a Harlequin romance.

I thought this was a good book. This was your typical beach read, nothing too heavy, but entertaining enough to enjoy and get through fairly quickly. The plot and characters were fairly predictable, but would recommend to others looking for a bit of light summer reading.

I loved the first Dewey book and was expecting the same with this. However, this book was less about Dewey and more about stories about other people and the impact their cats had on their life. Under other circumstances, I probably would have really enjoyed this book. To me, it felt like the title and cover picture exploited the success of the first Dewey book simply to get people to buy a follow up. I expected a book with untold stories of Dewey only to find a short introductory chapter about Dewey and the remaining chapters I read was stories about others (I was so disappointed I haven't finished reading the book at this point). I was left feeling quite let down.

I really enjoyed the book and the characters. Every so often there was a random chapter introducing a new character, which seemed a bit odd and a bit choppy to the story line. However, at the end it all gets tied together and sets the stage to carry on the storyline for other books which I'm really looking forward to.

I've been waiting a long time for Daisy's story. I really enjoyed it, but felt the entire story line was predictable and the ending a bit abrupt.

I've read mixed reviews about this book, but personally I loved it. I read it in one day as I couldn't put it down. The characters were well developed and the story line relevant and interesting. While the author has been compared to Nicholas Sparks, I actually enjoyed this more than some of Sparks novels I've read.
