Why on earth is this series so popular? I read it because everytime I turn the tv on an advertisement flashes across the screen, and of course because I cant bash the movie without reading it's original, right?
Its pretty gory, & I cant get around the fact that 12 year olds have to take part in something so horrible.
Although it does sound like something people would do. This is probably the first book I ever read in the present tense. I hate it.
Its very hard for me to follow along.
Its also annoying how Katniss treats Peeta, make up your mind!
Its true that if you can get over the violence, you will probably be tempted to read the next book because of how the first one ends so suddenly, but I dont think I can take more present tense for a while.

I am surprised at how many 4 & 5 stars this book is getting. To me it was extremely boring, it finally started picking up when Alice was at the hospital & talked to Nick, but kept going back down hill whenever we had to read the sister & grandmas point of view.
The sister is a nut job, & after a while I only started to skim through grannies part. Alice seemed too innocent as a 29 year old.
The only reason I kept reading it was because I wanted to figure out who on earth Gina was. I thought it was her lover everyone was so secretive about it. Finally at the end, I practically threw the book down because she chose the principal over Nick. Although Frannie says how they, 'look at each other' But long story short. I am not happy about the ending at all.
