What a fantastic book, and moreso, what a fresh way of looking at faith and religion. It talks about God in a way that isn't limited by churches and congregations. Young offers such a fresh perspective on the world. He gets at the heart of God and all that God is, the heart of faith. It's one of those books that sucks you in and leaves you contemplating your values and your beliefs.
A stupendous read. Mitch Albom breaks down an unknown world and makes it something concrete for the readers. It's a bit cheesy at times, but Albom makes up for it by providing some thoughtful passages that force the brain to reflect. It's a quick read as well, perfect for a few open hours one evening.
I found the book hard to get into at first, but after you make it past the first fifty or so pages it's hard to put down. The characters are believable and realistic, and the story flows beautifully.
It's well written and worth a read.
