This book had me at the beginning. When I first started reading I was amazed at the writing and the story Riley had to tell. The way it was very realistic and im sure some teenagers can relate to the characters stories. I really enjoyed how it didn’t end in a cliché and it was very different. Another strength was the situations all the characters faced through the book. They are all understandable for life as a teenager. I do not have anything bad to say about this book because it was amazing in everyway.
I was told this was a good book. I didn't believe it. I was then forced to read it as an assignment for school. Well lets just say this, I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!!! I couldn't put it down. The way he goes through life with the struggles but still makes the best of it. How can he go through the pain of loosing everything he knows just to proove a scientific operation a sucess. Then the sad part when Charlie's inteligence declines and he goes to the Warren State Home. He makes this decision all on his own knowing it's the best. This book was no bore. It was amazing and I wish I didn't have doubts about this book in the begining and read it with a more open mind.
This book was great for me as a young adult. I love the message it portrays and the love it involves. It made me look at my life with more joy and happiness. It showed me that my life is good and I shouldn't complain. I love the relationships it has between mother and daughter, friend to friend and even girl and boy. This will definatly cross my eyes again when I am looking for a book to read. I recomen this book to any teenage girl who loves girly and fluffy books. It was great!
Ex-mas by Kate Brian
I loved this book. And as I read more Kate Brian I love her more and more. I started to read this and was like what a selfish snob. How can someone think about themselves all the time? Well this was a quick read because I coultn't put it down. The chemistry between Beau and Lila was so awesome, even after seeing her own boyfriend all over another girl she is willing to go back to him. But in the end Lila redeemed herslef and became a better person. Very good book.
I read this book in 6th grade and recently got the sequel. Seeing as though I vaguly remember what happened I decied to read it agin. It definitely was a good re-read. I love this book and all its challenges. Being able to see the pro's and con's of a celebrity life was good to see. I read this book super fast so I could read the sequel. I would recomend this to any pre-teen or teen girl who loves a good fluffy book.
Before I read this book I didn't know what or who the Donner Party was. But when I asked my teacher she told me it was about this traveling group of people who got trapped in the mountains on their way to California, but they were trapped for so long they ran out of food and had to eat the dead bodies. Immediately I thought it was going to be gross. But when I read the book it wasn't about them eating other people, it was about their struggles and the things they had to do to try and survive. The point of view from Tamsen Donner was great and gave the reader an understanding of their personal feelings. I loved the book and recommend it to anyone who loves reading historical fiction.
