If you like the Miss Read books, these are along a similar theme. You will love the cross-section of characters and the way the story is told from different people. Highly recommended.
From the first page, I fell in love with the world Miss Read lives in. So gentle and unassuming. Some great humour in here too.
Kind of a sequel to Old Father Thames which I've read a long time ago. The author assumed you would know the characters from the fist book so I found it a bit confusing at first. A good read.
Not the best Lilian Harry, but worth it if you fancy a trip back in time
