Bogen er en meget spændende beretning om en meget ung pige/kvindes kamp for den mand hun kommer til at elske. Bogen beskriver meget gribende hvordan hun kommer til Danmark og har meget imod sig.

Teksten skifter dog mellem 1. persons fortæller og 3. persons fortæller og det er indimellem forvirrende og forstyrrer flowet i teksten.

A fantasy story about a young woman, Sonea, who finds herself wielding the abilities of the people she hates the most: magicians. Unfortunatly she discovers her new ability right in front of the magicians and the story is about Sonea's efforts to hide from the magicians. The story is also about the magicians trying to make up for a horrible mistake and convincing Sonea that they do not intends to kill her.
The book is well written and I find it easy to involve myself in the world of Kyrilia.

I recently reread this book and I'm still quite amazed at Asimovs ability to tell a good story. He knows just how to keep the reader in suspense - and how to describe his new ideas so they become a natural part of the story and not a distraction.
