Water Moon: The Sunday Times bestselling fantasy novel that takes you on a magical and healing adventure by Samantha Sotto Yambao
3.75 stars
I enjoyed this book!! It was a whimsical and fantastical adventure with a super interesting concept: a magical other world where nothing is what it seems, a mystery to be solved with lives on the line, and two from different worlds working together to solve it. Unfortunately, I feel like things got a bit too fantastical and it veered into confusing. I left the book with lots of questions, and though the book had an arguably good ending, I wasn’t quite satisfied. REGARDLESS, I really liked this book!

Breeze Spells and Bridegrooms: A Queer Historical Romance: Fae & Human Relations: A Regency Fantasy Series, #1 by Sarah Wallace

This was a cute read. Fae and regency era, what's not to like? I would say it's a rivals to lovers kind of trope, though the two have harbored animosity towards each other since grade school (they're 29 and 30, I believe). They fall hard and fast, which I love to see, so the yearning was there. Opposites attract, but they're more alike than they think. I enjoyed reading this, but I can't quite give it 4 stars because I feel like it was just way too long for what it is. Lots of dragging and unnecessary details, though I really did love reading the interactions between the two main characters. I still loved it and will likely give the following books in the series a go.

possibly blinded by nostalgia, but who cares?! i will ALWAYS love this series
bit of a slow start, but once it got going, it was hard to put down!! the main character is kind of annoying, but i still like her. anticipate a love triangle between a childhood friend/secret lover and a new prince forced to look for a wife (that is, if he wants to be king someday — daddy’s words, not mine). luckily, both of the love interests are good guys, though each of them have their stupid moments — typical
but once a maxon girl, always a maxon girl ;-)

This book did not steal my heart, no. I simply left it unattended and begging for a new home, which this read so graciously provided. How kind, indeed!
The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels was fantastical, fun, and hilarious— er, that is to say, ridiculous.
It’s a lighthearted read, albeit a bit confusing at first. But, as you read and familiarize yourself with the writing style, it is easy to lose yourself in its trance!!
The biggest rule when reading this is to take nothing seriously. It’s sarcastic and satirical with the type of dry humor you either love or hate. It might be like if The Princess Bride was more risqué. There is a list of characters at the beginning that seems long and daunting, but many characters are one (this confused me greatly at first). Our Ned is a man of many names, after all!
The romance in this is super fun. Assassin (and various other masks) x target, Ned and Cecelia offer a lighthearted take on “enemies” to lovers. Their chemistry is insane and their banter amusing, I loved reading about their relationship. And, yes! There was yearning! So. Much. Yearning. It was glorious.
I really enjoyed this book! I will definitely read the companion books that follow.
