Brilliant, intoxicating... and yet patient.
Each chapter found my hands tapping out a rhythm (each one different) of their own accord, as though the book was guiding them.
I learned a lot about drumming, drums, rhythm ... and history!

At times, the writing shows the need of an editor, but the book is full of good history, information on areas in which we now know that old historical stories were misinformed, and great uses for Reiki. It won't teach you Reiki, but it well help you expand your abilities and application once you're attuned.
I borrowed it from the library (yay for the good library that had it!) but will now be seeking my own copy.

It's okay. Trail Guides of the Human Body is much better.
Good basic story, but the narrative kept eroding my ability to care about the characters. The writing is mediocre
I enjoyed it. It started slow, but soon settled into an interesting story. It also provides a nice peek at the life of folk in feudal times (omitting the king except for a passing reference).
This may never come off my Currently Reading shelf. It is an invaluable resource
Catherynne's books are so rich, and multilayered! They're not quick reads, but sumptuous meals of words and interrelated stories.
I enjoyed the book, and hugely appreciate that even though went got war, he didn't get bogged down in detailed battle scenes, but let us focus on what some non-combatants were doing sometimes. I'm curious about what happens next, but don't feel driven to get the next book in my hands right away....
The professor and the madman : a tale of murder, insanity, and the making of the Oxford English dictionary by Simon Winchester
Wonderful book. Winchester has an engaging style that brings the history of two word lovers to life. This is an amazing, personal story about a book that changed the way e understand language. Brilliant
Subtle mystery, that I only caught about ten pages before the resolution.
Review for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork Certification (LWW Massage Therapy and Bodywork Educational Series) by Joseph Ashton
Some parts were very helpful, but the practice test answer key is wrong in several places. it's more of an outline that a place to solidify learning
I enjoyed the random facts that Sarah, the reporter, er journalist, scatters throughout. The suspense holds up well, but it's a bit over the top on Jeremy's....proclivities. I understand that the earlier books in the series were more brutal.
My daughter wanted to read it -- and so I thought I should finally get around to reading it myself first, if only to be able to give her a reasonable heads' up as to the level of sex scene she was getting into.
After the hype, and the banning, etc., I figured I might be reading a Fanny Hill sort of book. As it turns out, I was not. It was an interesting discussion on class, and women's roles etc. spiced up with a few not very titillating sex scenes.

Had I not been exposed to Tom Meyers' Anatomy Trains book, I likely would have found this book to be more exciting. It's a pretty good surface discussion, but if you really want to learn about Fascial anatomy and about how to affect it, go for Meyers' book
It's hard to say I LIKED this book, because I usually mean that I enjoyed the book when I say things like that. This isn't an enjoyable book. But it is informative, helpful, and well worth reading.
Excellent resource. I could wish it were easier to sort though by symptom, since sometimes you won't recognize a condition. But the special tests and explicit explanations of exactly what is happening with a given condition, asking with the range of motion tests make it easy to confirm a huge range of conditions and injuries.
I bought this book when caught up in the frenzy of being amazed at her boundless creativity that you can't help but feel at the end of a knitting workshop with her. I was curious as to where that ability to make connections that others don't would take her in writing a novel; after all, where it takes her when she'd got yarn and needles in her hands is pretty amazing.
Then, I let the book rest on my shelf for years, untouched. I'm sorry I waited so long. This is a wonderful tale about two children learning about the magic of nature, and the nature of magic and the interconnectedness of all things. Thanks Cat!

It was a little thin, but still a good read. Part of a series, and that tends to mean that you don't actually get to read some of what makes a character do what she does because those who read the others already know. But then again, I prefer that when reading a series to reading little mini-summaries of the previous books so that the late-comers can catch up.
It wasn't awesome enough to make me pull up all of Alex's previous book, but it was good enough that I'd give another one a shot.

Like many books of this genre, it seems to be one that can help a couple who are both interested in changing their relationship to make it better. He provides good basic instructions on communication skills that can make a huge difference if people are really willing to apply them. Better still, he explains why these practices will make a difference.
Like many authors, he also says many times that if you do this.... those around you will begin to respond differently, I continue to struggle with that premise. In order for your changes to make a difference in those around you, those around you have to be perceptive enough to notice a change. And the changes he describes are hard to perfect, much less maintain, without positive feedback.

I read it first when it was first released.... and loved it.
I read it again, and love it still.

Very interesting --- I'll need to read it a second time before I post any reviews.
