Having lived in Germany and having personal ties to Poland, I am always interested in stories such as this one. I found the story this book tells to be gripping, heart wrenching, and just plain amazing. The question that is constantly running through my head when reading personal stories from WWII is what I would do under similiar conditions. A courageous story that reminds us of the powerful impact of individuals' actions.

Some of the technical details were a bit uninteresting to me, but I enjoyed this book for what it is - a quick-read thriller. It reminded me of the TV show, 24. A good beach read.
