I find that the books written in TC's name to be close to the Clancy way of writing and intriguing but somehow just aren't Clancy worthy. But I still enjoy them all the same. JR Jr. is a chip off the old man and deserves accolades! Well worth the time to read!
William Geroux laid out for all to see just how the Merchant Marine sailed into harm's way despite the lack of support and even contempt by many to ensure that the supplies and men needed to fight on land and sea were supplied and replenished. He brought to life the men who sailed and the families that waited for their return in a beautifully wrote saga of the war. It's very hard to make historically correct history into a compelling read, but he succeeded beyond that and brought to life the story of a small community and the contribution they provided to winning World War II. For any WW II history buff this is a must read! For everyone else, this should be required reading so that the story of so many brave souls is remembered for their contribution to an allied victory. Well done Mr. Geroux and thank you for bringing this story alive and to its proper place in history!
Gripping tale of war time air missions in WW II told through the eyes of a airman who was too young to be there but was there none the less.
Mr. Robinson wrote a fantastic tale and very believable in this day and age. His depth of research and his technical advisor hit the nail on the head! A submarine tale that leads you into the world of global politics and the ramifications when dealing in the black ops of the modern world. Oh, how and what a tangled web we weave when we try to deceive! I must say that I read a lot of the recommendations that were slightly or more on the negative side and, I know that they are just one's opinion, to me they are only negative because the reader didn't get the ending the way they wished it to turn out! We don't get to pick the ending we want sometimes and have to face reality, as in real life with the USS Independance case. Real life, and that is what this story tries to emulate, seldom gives us what we want. A superb job Mr. Patrick Robinson for a story that is fiction but could be ripped from the headlines of any major newspaper! I congratulate you on your choice of ending and bringing to life the true consequences of the "greater good outcome" theory.
Platoon is a story of a beleaguered Army platoon of soldiers that received "fresh meat" for the jungle grinder and is told through the eyes of one of the replacements. This story takes a lot of what happened over there with our young men fighting a war that, it seemed, nobody wanted. A lot of the issues with this platoon was in my opinion a conglomeration of the stories that have come out of "Nam," be the details were widespread throughout the soldiers or not the author took the liberty to ensure that these men provided a channeling of the stories through them. Good read and worth the time devoted to see how it was during that conflict, maybe not all at once as told in the story.
Typical Clancy! Great plot especially with what the world has seen in the last 2+ years! Loved the ending to the story and the book! If you haven't read it and you like Clancy well, it's a must read then.
I read this book a long time ago, but the story was gripping and possible being it was during WW II and many unbelievable experiments were tried and some with success and some were failures! The author takes us down the road of one of the failures and the consequences of the failure. The Philadelphia Experiment was a real event but the book is fiction and the author has a wonderful tale to tell! Well worth the read.

Two If By Sea is a terrorist thriller by Richard McCann. Karen Ann had a genuine interest in the sea and started working on Cape May Lewes when she was sixteen. Karen Ann pursued her life’s dream and became captain of the Palm Princess. Lamar Weston was a successful financial advisor and the largest cocaine drug smuggler and distributor on the East Coast. Lamar created a waterproof container with powerful magnets that can be attached to the hull of a ship and can withstand any kind of weather. Lamar’s drug smuggling operation was taken over by terrorists, and they started smuggling nuclear waste into the containers to be used in the construction of bombs. To stop nuclear weapons from engulfing the US in a nuclear conflict, Captain Karen Ann Murphy works with Navy SEALS to put a stop to it.

Richard McCann created a roller coaster of romance, suspense, and action in Two If By Sea. It was fast-paced, full of action, and a definite page-turner. The mystery and intrigue kept me on the edge of my seat, turning the pages as fast as I could. The plot includes a hurricane, drug smugglers, and international terrorism, and it had me guessing until the end. I was hooked from the start, and I could not put it down. The characters were well-developed and engaging. They were relatable, and I felt like I knew them. Karen Ann was a strong-willed teenager who grew into a beautiful woman who knew what she wanted out of life. The book was well-researched and well-written. There were so many surprises that I never knew what to expect next!

Richard McCann's Two If By Sea is a thrilling story involving terrorism. The protagonist, Karen Ann Murphy, is the captain of the ship Palm Princess. Little did she know that her dream of being at sea would turn into a nightmare when she discovered a sinister plot unfolding on her ship. A man named Lamar has attached a limpet mine to the hull, which contains nuclear waste intended for Mohammad Modula's dirty bombs. Modula's men are planning mass destruction against the United States. As the tale continues, FBI Special Agent Gordon contacts local detectives Sharper and Hobonboski. Gordon has a related case with a suspect who sounds very similar to a murder case they investigated. The National Security Agency intercepts encrypted messages from Saudi Arabia. Time is running out to stop the terrorists.

Richard McCann includes vivid details of a large cast of protagonists. Karen Ann was given a substantial background from her childhood, which influenced her career. Lamar’s inner turmoil shows how guilty he feels. He even feels that he betrayed his family by never revealing his illegal activities. Special Agent Gordon’s determination was exemplary. The Navy SEALs and the National Security Agency agents added humor to the dramatic unfolding of events. The dialogue was realistic and felt natural. I liked how the terrorist's views were included as this added depth to the plot. The unpredictable plot and incredible suspense kept me intrigued. I agreed with the theme of questioning how someone can hate a country to the extent of resorting to terrorism. To kill people of different backgrounds and religions is unforgivable. Two If By Sea will appeal to anyone who enjoys stories of espionage, heroism, and patriotism.

Great story! This story has humor, sadness, mystery, and many more emotions pulling at you all the way through to the end! The author spun a fabulous tale and was well worth the read!
One of my favorite genres, WWII. This book tells the story of a very young teenage Jewish boy with his sights set to see Hitler and the Nazi's annihilated from the earth and the extremes he went through to get into the fight! Well written and very good descriptions of the action and what the men were faced with day in and day out.
Classic, heavy use of old English. As told through the eyes of a hired-on deck hand. A bit heavy on details but for any non-mariner/whaler it opens the world of 1800's whaling to them and puts them at sea with Captain Ahab and the crew! All in all, a classic masterpiece!
Very informative, sometimes difficult to understand the old English from the documents provided, but overall liked it a lot.
Mr. Clancy struck gold with Hunt for Red October! Jack Ryan became a household name after this book hit the streets. The modern Cold War suspense drama is packed with action as the Top Secret Soviet submarine is being hunted by the Americans as well as the USSR's forces. The book is better than the movie and the movie is good!
Another Clancy great! Jack Ryan series where new characters emerge and eventually, they move into their own books as lead characters.
