It is a very good first abstract algebra book, an unusual one though since it treats the ring theory before group theory. There are many exercises and a sequence of related problems often lead to a good result worth keeping in mind. Some of the exercises are useful additions to the theorem in the text. I would recommend this book to people starting out with abstract algebra.
