I am a little surprised by the reviews and ratings so far on this book. Honestly, this is the best book I have read in a while. The utter frantic confusion in the beginning is countered with the calm and almost plodding pace of the middle, where discoveries are made and mysteries explored, and, just as Jinx enters the picture with his own frantic nature, Lilith is the counter with calm serenity to the end. I loved it. Loved everything about it. Every time someone accepted the Dharma, a lotus blossom bloomed in my heart.

I am a huge fan of zombies and have read zombie books with smart zombies, lonely zombies, shambling zombies, you name it. This one was unlike any other: A zombie who is hiding the fact that she's a zombie. In a non-paranormal-fiction way, the interactions between the main character and the social circle she's forced into by her mother is very interesting. This peppy preppy girl has to suddenly become a seemingly-depressed Emo chick overnight when the zombie virus claims her, and she has to listen to music she hates, act all morose when she's not, and generally be a person she's not. Add back in the complication of having to bathe in formaldehyde and fight constant cravings for tasty brainmeats, and it's a recipe for disaster.

All in all, I thought this book was awesome. The characters were terrific, the interactions between them believable and sincere. I was continually baffled by her hot and cold mother and really left wondering WHY she decided to throw her life away to raise this zombie-virus-carrying infant. There was no sense of the maternal there at all - it was baffling to me, but in a totally good way.

I would recommend this book to any fan of dark fiction, paranormal fiction, or zombies.

I received this book along with two others from the same publisher in the Early Reviewers program, and all three were terrific.

I am a sucker for a "sold my soul at the crossroads" type of story, and this one did absolutely not disappoint. It was dark and moody and suspenseful all the way through, to the point where I was both relieved and depressed when I reached the final page. The characters were all believable and easy to connect to, and the story moved at a lightning pace. There is so much I could say about it, but it would all ruin it, so I'll just say, "trust me, you'll love it."

(I can understand the comments made by other reviewers about there being too much musical mumbo-jumbo - I have past history of being in bands so that did not even register to me as a problem while reading - obviously the guy knows what he's talking about.)

I received this book as an Early Reviewers selection from the publisher along with two others. All three were fantastic.

I received this book through the Early Reviewers and remember it being a light romp through the fringe of the theater. I went into it not expecting much, so I wasn't necessarily disappointed, but it did tend to drag on a bit. Quantity over quality. I didn't want to gouge my eyes out after I was done, but I don't recall feeling the need to know what happened next, either. Not terrible, not fantastic, three stars.

When I finished reading this book, I turned from the last page to the first page and started reading it again. The last book that affected me enough to do that was Wicked, and I've read that one about 10 times since then. I have a feeling I'll be doing the same thing with Arcadia Falls.

It's a fairy tale at its core, a story of love and loss, secrets and lies, forgiveness and forgetting. The story of the lost changeling girl who finds the home she didn't even realize she missed. I loved all of the connections between all of the characters, a twisted and gnarled family tree. I'll leave the plot synopsis to other reviewers and will just say that this book will hold a special place in my artist's heart.

I received this book through the Early Reviewers group and was honestly hesitant in even selecting it. I'm generally not a fan of romance novels, but I'm a sucker for the supernatural, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

With all that being said, I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Her main character, Lucy, is quick and witty, slightly goofy, and damaged. I always enjoy and appreciate damaged characters, since we're all pretty damaged. Her love interest is appropriately hunky, and the foil characters, her grandmother, her college friends, and Raphael, her male role model/father's driver, are all lovable in their own ways. The story was fast-paced and interesting, and the addition of supernatural secrets was a definite plus. Add that to the fact that it's really not a romance novel at all, and I was completely won over.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this book as light and easy reading. I'll definitely be watching for book #2!
