This book smacked me in the face in the best way possible. One of the few instances where the second book in a series was BETTER than the first, Allen Zadoff has knocked YA spy thrillers to another level with "I Am the Mission." The stakes are higher for Boy Nobody and the opponents more cunning, sharp on Boy Nobody's tail. I loved every minute of this book and can't wait for the third in the series!

All your favorites are back in Moffett’s second Lexi mystery. While the love triangle (square?) is still very apparent, Lexi Charmichael now works side-by-side with Finn and must now navigate “dating” her boss. Basai, Lexi’s best friend might wear on some as she’s… unconventional. And of course there’s super hunky spy/ genius hacker Slash. YUM.

Moffett catches readers up nicely, without overloading on information. There are no sex scenes but, No One to Trust does have some predictable and unrealistic situations that Lexi is placed in. A fun and lively extension of the first book, Moffett brings a lighthearted blossoming of Lexi while balancing the tension between the various men in her life.... Once a favorite of mine, Daddy’s Little Girl barely makes a mark on my crime and mystery scale. Tedious with guilt-ridden inner monologue and far too many scenarios with food this book reads more like a diary than a novel.

Because readers are already given the “who-dunnit” there’s little chase or apparent danger to entice the readers as the book progresses. Yes, finding out more about Andrea’s killer is pretty fun but when every single character Ellie encounters warns her she’s in danger, what does she do? IGNORES IT. Watching a train wreck happen slowly is ugly business, let alone reading it.

Enjoyable if you’re a hardcore fan of the day-to-day accounts in mysteries and suspense otherwise, a book that’s decent with an excitable chase scene ending won’t cut it for most..... Please click for the full review.

Never ceasing to push the YA envelope, Highway to Hell is a must read for all YA lovers. It’s quick and fun, but without being fluff -- you don’t even need to read the two previous books (although it is advised).

My favorite of the series, I’m still debating whether the ending is perfect or shake RCM and Random House Publishing until they promise to continue the series. This novel is for EVERYONE. Because of the wide range of flawed characters, you’ll be able to relate to someone. I honestly don’t care your preference of genre, you have to read it. Like the first book, Queen of the Dead will never be dubbed a classic or thought-provoking book and I personally still find the concept a little weird. I mean, Alona’s dead and Will is alive… how would that work in the long run?
Well, Kade graciously clues everyone in and ties up the loose ends developed in Ghost and the Goth. Now that high school is over, enter the mysterious girl who can also talk to ghosts and more clues to Will’s father. Alona is still a prickly one, but has thankfully toned down her high-horse act. I sincerely recommend those who like the romance elements and fans of ghosts to read this series, but it’s not for everyone. I haven’t read such an exaggerated book in a while. Alona, the ghost, is a b.i.t.c.h. Unsympathetic and way too caught up in her own drama (which really isn’t that bad), she isn’t a relatable character. And Will? OK, he’s more relatable but I have never seen EVERYONE (including the principal) out to get you. It’s way too cliché.

Thankfully halfway through the book something changed. I giggled –twice – but it still wasn’t enough for me to really get into the book. It’s just too unbelievable and has no relatability to carry it through.

Imogene is that bold punk girl I wished I could have been as a teen. She kicks-ass and takes names, even if it’s just hanging out with her best friend, Maxine. From Maxine to her mother, all who surround Imogene are fantastic characters; de Lint switches points between Imogene, Maxine, and Adrian easily.

This isn’t one of those love story YA novels, so that might put some off, but I urge you to try this book on for size. The fact that it’s fifteenth in a series doesn’t detract from it at all. In fact, I didn’t learn about it until I did this review! .. please click for the full review.

Blood and Chocolate is one of those books that will be timeless. Sure, it might seem dated as the years progress but at its core you have real characters; relatable or admired characters. Confidant and vulnerable Vivian is center stage as a seventeen-year-old Lugaru fighting to find her place in pack and life. While slowly paced for a portion of the book the ending redeems Abandon big time with some action and a small cliffhanger. If you’re a fan of Meg Cabot and the Greek myth I would recommend it but, if you’re on the fence about this book, I’d say wait for the second book of the trilogy to come out — because you KNOW it’s going to be action packed! The Chicago Stars series will find a place in your heart very quickly and Match Me if You Can is no different. All of the favorite characters are back as a supporting cast to Annabelle and Heath. Yes, you will have to suspend belief on some parts (it is a romance after all) but, Phillips balances endearing with gut busting. When you think opposites attract, these two fit the bill for one hell of a read. Romance not your cup of tea? It’s all good, there’s only one sex scene that’s easily skipped to make for a fabulous evening chick-lit read in the fading sun.
