I was shocked by how much I enjoyed this book. Stiefvater (say that five times fast!) is excellent at detail in her prose; there were so many times I was struck by the realism of the smaller moments of her writing, in how easily those details helped to sketch these characters for me. There was a familiarity to it all that I found engrossing.

As far as the actual story -- well, I finished the last 40% or so of the book in the course of one evening, which gives you an idea of how much I got caught up in the story. All the characters were wonderfully well-drawn, and I particularly loved seeing the friendships and relationships between the women psychics. (The boys are great and fantastic as well, and I love each of them, but well-drawn relationships between women are harder to come by, while male friendship is abundant in literature.)

All in all, I recommend it to anyone who's interested in any sort of fantasy.
Stop what you're doing. Stop it. Right now. Okay, good. Now go find this book. It's okay, I'll wait. You can buy it or get it at the library or anyway you want. (Don't steal it.) Okay, now read it. YOU'RE WELCOME.
I feel like I am going to be haunted by this book for a very long time.
