When I first read the book summary I wasn't sure I would enjoy a book where the main character suffered from depression, especially having personal experience of it. However, although it is part of the main character's back story it doesn't go into depth and focus on that aspect. I found the book to be very enjoyable and readable, I was eager to keep turning the pages to see where it was going. the characters were likeable and I warmed to them immediately, My only disappointment was that I felt that we could have gone a lot more into depth on getting to know them, and the book would not have lost its pace by taking a little more time to expand on the main characters. that is why I am giving 4 out of 5 stars. Looking forward to reading more of Al Macy's books in this series.
PREVENTING ALZHEIMER'S: Alzheimer's Factors, Prevention Steps and Foods That Prevent or Slow Alzheimer's, Recipes for Alzheimer's Prevention Diet (Essential Spices and Herbs) by Joseph Veebe
A very readable book, however my main concern is that the author does not appear to have any medical qualifications, and although there are some general facts and figures referred to there is no data to confirm that following the advice in the book will in fact prevent Alzheimer's. That being said, the advice given in this book, in my opinion would certainly do more good than harm in that it extolls many topics whose virtues are being more widely extolled such as healthy eating, mental stimulation and good sleep habits. Some interesting recipes. So in general good habits to live by but not supporting evidence that it would prevent Alzheimer's. The author does state ïn his opinion' and comes across as being genuine in his aims
