The book of the month, as selected by consensus here (http://www.librarything.com/talktopic.php?topic=9475), is Ecology of a Cracker Childhood by Janisse Ray.

You are welcome to discuss the book here, but the real task is to post a review on Library Thing's book info page. The most entertaining and/or illuminating review wins its author the honor of selecting the book of the month for June

(May's selection will be made by the contributor of the best review of A Confederacy of Dunces.)

You guys rock. I can't believe no one has thrown a Confederacy of Dunces review into the mix. I might have to just re-read it myself.

I don't have a copy of A Confederacy of Dunces and will not have an opportunity to read it this month. Sorry I can't help you there.

I read Confederates back when it was first chosen as the read, but I don't feel qualified to post a review. I know that I liked the novel, and thought it a sharp, funny, and irreverant read. However, I don't feel like I have a good grasp of the bigger picture that the book was trying to portray. So, I'm sorry to let you down Dystopos. (lol) Perhaps if time allows, inspiration will come.

When I check on the reviews for this book it says there are three, but I only see two. Any idea how to read the third review. Is anyone else planning on reviewing Ray's book?

Normally there's a (see all 3 reviews) link below the second one displayed, but it appears to be missing here.

I reported it to the Bug Collectors group.

I don't know if we are going to get to see the third review of Childhood. How about if the person who posted it just copy it into a message and post it here. That way we can move on while the LibraryThing team figures out what went wrong.

Would be nice. I'll move on by end of day Friday regardless.
