The famous five were five INCLUDING the dog and the Secret Seven were seven PLUS the dog - a canine status inconsistency to rival the Goofy and Pluto thing.

Yes, but Timmy was bigger than Scamper. And took a bigger part in the adventures. And there's no way George would have let him be left out!
