Ironic, on this 100th anniversary of the Chicago stockyards fire, that a similar fire occurred on the south side of Chicago today, killing, so far, two fire fighters. In both, a building collapsed during a fire with firefighters inside.
Until the Sept 11th terrorist attacks, the Chicago stockyards fire was the single worst loss of firefighters (21) in one incident.
