I loved Anita Blake, but after Obsidian Butterfly they got really gross.
L.J. Smith is wicked awesome.

I am always looking for new series, but I do really like Kim Harrison and also Mary Janice Davidson. Both are so great but kind of at opposite ends of the same spectrum. Harrison is a heavier more serious take the subject as opposed to Davidson, but both very enjoyable.

My favorite series is far and away the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice. The writing is rich and sensual, and the characters absolutely come alive.

Anita Blake got me into the whole Urban Fantasy scene, but after Obsidian Butterfly it did get a bit graphic on the "adult" scenes. I still read them though (Richard has my heart, I must know what he is doing).
As for others, I heart Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series, followed closely by Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files and Patricia Briggs's Mercy Thompson novels. Yasmine Galenorn has a very intriguing series with her Sisters of the Moon series, and Kim Harrison's Hollows series is wonderful too.
I just finished reading the first 3 books in the Kitty Norville series by Carrie Vaughn, and they were very good - the first is really short (I think about 250 pages) and after that they just keep getting better. I am anxious to get into the fourth one.
Well, I think I've yakked enough.
