The first book read by MagicalGirl in 2011 is The Diamond Secret by Suzanne Weyn.
It is part of Once Upon a Time series, which is a series focused on retelling classic princess stories. You can read these stories from multiple perspectives, but the main focus of this story was Nadya, who is from Russia. She learns new revelations about who she is throughout the book.
It's a cliffhanger of a tale, and highly recommended.

Thanks for all the welcomes!
I finished another book today - and I just started it last night. It is called The Night Dance and it is part of the Once Upon a Time series like the other one I just read. It was an enchanting retelling of "The Twelve Dancing Princesses" - but different from what I've read previously. The most interesting difference from other versions is that it was related to King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, specifically Bedivere. It also included the Lady of the Lake, Vivienne, as the mother of the twelve girls. I liked it a lot.

i just finished another book called What I Saw and How I Lied it is about a girl named Evie Spooner, her father left her mother, so her mother married her step-dad Joe. This book is very emotional, by the way its more for teenagers i think. Evie, her mom and Joe go to Palm Beach for vacation, where they find true love, debt and a mysteirious case that is never solved. I really enjoyed this book, i hope you do too!

i just finished another book called Nobody's Princess It's a book about young Helen of Troy. How she wants to learn to fight like her brothers, not weave, sew or do womanly things, like her sister. i just finished another book called three black swans its about three girls who are identical triplets, separated at birth. The book goes through from before they knew until after, the process of the girls figuring it out and finding each other. A metaphor i like to use to describe this book is that the parents wove a carpet of lies, but forgot to cut off loose ends, the loose ends unravel and the truth is revealed. The truth is not as soft as the carpet of lies, its hard as stone, with three soft spots, the three sisters. In the end they find each other and everything is perfect, or as perfect as it can get with this situation... i hope you like it, i LOVE it, since i'm a twin myself, it was especially interesting.

i just finished an AMAZING book called one night that changes everything it was one of THE BEST books i have ever read EVER. Its about a girl who writes all the things she is afraid to do in a notebook. Then she finds out that her boyfriend is only dating her for initiation for a stupid boy club. Eliza (the main character) writes mean things about her ex-boyfriend, Cooper, on internet and it keeps him from going to a college his parents really want him to go to. the club, called the 318's take revenge on her by taking her notebook and making her do things in it, if she doesn't they'll post ALL of it online for the world to see. Along this crazy journey, Eliza figures out about, how good friends can be, how to forgive and give a second chance and how to be brave. In this beautifully written novel, Lauren Barnholdt brings out the feelings and actions of the characters and it will always have a place in my heart.
