Being a middle grades teacher, I require my students to read 25 or more books during the school year, so this challenge should be fun!! :O)

I have completed If I Stay by Gayle Forman and Flawless PLL#2. I hope I can remember to post my other books each time I finish one.

Happy Reading!!

>1 lms8esmith: I'm glad to see a teacher that values reading! As a college librarian and professor, I sometimes see students who are a bit challenged in that department.

The standards in my state require students to read 25 books/equivalents or one million words. I try really hard to make sure they broaden their horizons, so I typically read as many YA novels as I can in order to make recommendations to them. Thanks for the words of encouragement. :O)

I work in a high school library and I use the excuse of reading to be able to recommend books to the students. I'm glad I have the excuse! That being said, I think many YA books are written to be enjoyed by older readers as well. It's kind of like the old Warner Brothers cartoons that had adult humor in them to make them attractive to older viewers. I'll never forget watching a Bullwinkle cartoon when I was in college where Rocky made a comment about "flicking a bird." I nearly fell off my chair laughing!

Hi jolerie!! I really loved Fallen. Lauren Kate really kept the twists and turns and glimpses of romance coming when you least expected it. It is definitely worth the read. I can't wait to get the other books in the series!! Stop by any time you'd like! :O)

Matched blew me away!! I could not put this one down and had to finish it the same day I began reading it. What an awesome twist to the dystopian society and now I have other books related to The Giver and can share with my students. :)

Thanks Em! I'll be totally honest that I picked up the book purely because the cover art was so captivating. I bought the book and then read up descriptions on it and was very interested by the story. I ended up buying the next book in hardcover (which I never do!) and again the coverart was so great! I will have to get to that book soon. :)
