Since the thread hasn't been started and I I'm nearly halfway through, I thought I'd get it started.

Who else is joining in?

Hi Chèli - Great to see you diving into the book so quickly! I checked my hold for A Murderous Procession at the library and, fingers crossed, I should be able to join the group read..... hopefully next week~!

**POSSIBLLE SPOILER** I just finished section 2 and I'm telling you, I was really shaking at that one point. I couldn't go to sleep until I knew they were safe.

Okay, I couldn't stop! I'm waiting to talk about it.

I just checked my hold at the library - the book is "in Transit' - meaning it is heading to my designated branch for pick up from whichever branch the book was returned to. Will update here once I have the book in my hot little hands. I love the Mistress of the Art of Death series for its readability so I should be able to catch up pretty fast once I have it!

I'm new and I want to get in on group discussion. Is there a dead line?

Hi darkdanita - I am not aware of any deadline. I will be picking up my copy of the book tomorrow - the library just emailed me that it was ready - and will post comments as soon as I can. As you probably saw with cyderry's post @#3 above, any post that might give away the story will have a *** SPOILER*** indicator so that anyone that hasn't read the book knows to ignore the post until they have read it. Even if you read the books weeks from now and want to post comments, please do as it will generate new discussion and probably, even new interest.

Looking forward to you joining the discussion!

I finished A Murderous Procession this evening and was as happily enthralled with this story as I have been with the previous three books in the series.

Chèli - I now know what you were alluding to in section 2.

Lori, Sorry I didn't get to back sooner. I really enjoyed the book. I love the series.
**SPOILER** I did have a problem with the section of the Cathars because even though I knew in my mind that they would escape, I was really nervous until it really happened. I couldn't put the book down until they got away cleanly.(I was reading in bed before going to sleep.) I thought that there was some explanation missing about the changes that took place in Sicily when the King apparently was "accepting" of different life styles. I also had a hard time at the end because it seem to happen too fast with few details. What did you think?

Hi Chèli - no worries. I do hope Franklin has another book in the works... I am already itching for the next installment in the series!

****SPOILER ALERT*****
I found section two was suspenseful and well written to carry the suspense. It wasn't looking good for the group. Nothing like having more enemies than friends surrounding you and the help you are relying on isn't showing up! I don't know how people could survive in such a back-stabbing environment where killing someone is treated so nonchalantly.

Franklin did brush over, rather quickly I must say, how things had changed in Sicily over time. I had the feeling of an overall ebe and flow of openness towards different life styles that started with the new rulers just flinging the doors to the city open wide and saying 'enter, the best and brightest'. I think I need to investigate that period in time in further detail. As for the ending, it was rushed and cut off too soon, as if Franklin is deliberately trying to dangle the carrot in preparation for the next installment. I am having some difficulty with the murderer's identity - on reflection, I am having a little trouble connecting the dots to that individual as the logical conclusion.

****End of SPOILER ALERT****

Even so, I still can't wait for the next one!
