I hate it when no book feels quite right. Welcome! Glad you had a great series though.

Thanks, everyone! I just finished Hush, Hush and it wasn't too bad. It was pretty good at keeping me wondering but it just felt like something was missing, but I don't regret reading it today since I had a snow-day anyway. My goal is to next finish Glass Houses or Pride and Prejudice.
Wish me luck!

7. Dead Girls' Dance

This was the second book in the Morganville Vampires series and I was surprisingly happy with it. It wasn't very heavy reading but the sequel did seem a lot better then the first. It seems that they spent more time with the plot and the characters and situations became more in depth. All in all, I am pretty happy with this series thus far, let's hope that it keeps up!.

# 10 Thanks!

Ok, so I just finished Touch the Dark for some reason. I really like the Morganville series but when I saw this I just had to read it, so here is another start of a series. It was pretty good. It begins with Cassie Palmer, a clairvoyant that is mixed up in a whole pot of trouble by running from a vamp named Tony. Along the way there's love, betrayal, and lots of twists. The story has tons of elements in it and the world is complex enough to make you head spin! So far I'm slightly confessed but, hey, maybe that's just a way to get me to read the next book in the series.

9. Midnight Alley
I've been enjoying this series a lot, but this book was definitely the best thus far. Claire is finally getting into the swing of things and taking on a role in the town. Sure, she still messes up and sometimes I feel she should do more, but she's growing a back bone and I'm enjoying her character growth.

I may have to give the Morganville Vampires series a try. It looks as though my local library has them, so I am in luck.

Of course! So, far it's one of my favorite (I wasn't crazy about Kiss of Death though it was still pretty good). Claire starts working on the machine for Morganville but it starts erasing the memories of the residents, both vamp and human alike to about three years back. Because of this, you learn a lot about the characters and there is plenty of my personal favorite character, Myrnin. Plus, Claire grows stronger, but not like in most books with cool supernatural powers or awesome looks, but with her mind and confidence in what she can do. I can't wait for the next one but, sadly, it seems I'm caught up and have wait till April!

Don't you hate it when you are really into a specific author and you have to wait for his or her next book.

I feel that way about Alice Hoffman. She is one of my favorite authors. Her writing is so lyrically magical.

Ok, so I just started reading the Chicagoland Vampire series (Yeah, I know, too many vampires, but I've been hooked since Buffy) a couple a days ago, and now I' caught up.

All in all, it wasn't a bad series, it actually got better as it want along. My major two complaints were that it, one, seemed to go way to slow in the first book, and, two, the main character, thought strong willed and awesome, didn't seem to know what she wanted or have plans. But all that aside, I really liked the series. The take on vampires being finally outed to the world was something that doesn't usually happen. Ether it's a well kept secret or they've always been there. The romance was less then I'm used too and I swear the best friend, Mallory, should have a series devoted just to her. My final score is a 4 (When did I start giving scores to books?) and although it bugged me at the beginning, I'm am totally psyched for the next one coming in May!

I am glad to see you have found a series to love! I have favorites too and am always happy to stumble across another.
