A long and adult telling of the fairytale, interesting plot, lots of magical characters. Enjoyable read, love fairytales.

A fun, easy, historical thriller. Enjoyed the references to Greek history but the twist and the subsequent ending were not up to the early premise. Mined it for all the Greek historical trivia.

I could not put this one down. Just had to finish it.
The plot is great, the storytelling is magical, the characters are so real.
Loved it, although it is not my typical shallow read.
Must must must read.

I am on a reading binge. Can you tell?
I had heard so much about this book and the trilogy but all I heard was that it was about people chosen to participate in a game where they had to kill each other off to survive. Not exactly my kind of story.
But when I started reading it, I got caught up in the story and the characters. And I especially loved that there is a "teenage dream kind of love story" somewhere. So I read on through the night, and even at work. I just have to find out what happens next.

And so the story continues, and I cried through a passage or two of this one. Wow! Did I ever underestimate this series and its author!
I love how the plot has thickened, and the way the author is able to create such a tangled web of truths.
On to the last of the trilogy.

What a great read! Not that I am super happy about the way things ended, or who she ended up with. But Collins kept me wanting for more until the third book. Would I like another ending, maybe. Would I change the way things worked out for the mockingjay, maybe. Then again, if it had been a real feel good everybody happy ending, it wouldn't be The Hunger Games at all.
Must must read.

Will take a breather from the long narratives, and revisit one of my favorite writers.

Masterful story-telling. What a subject, what a plot, what a writer. Enjoyed reading, I could not let go until I got to the end. And then I shed tears for all three of them.

Book 10 of 50: Pride and Prejudice. Jane Austen
The Flips Flipping Pages, one of the biggest book discussion groups in the Philippines, had a first-ever face-to-face READATHON in tandem with Dewey's Readathon over the April 8 weekend, and this was the occasion for finally reading PRIDE AND PREJUDICE.
Loved the book, and enjoyed the banter and the wit. Loved it so much I had to watch the BBC mini-series, as well.
Book 11 of 50: Pride and Prejudice Wild and Wanton Edition. Annabella Bloom and Jane Austen
I found this edition in one of my favorite bookstores, which gave me double reason to read the original novel. Fun read, but nothing beats the original at all.

Book 12 of 50: Angelology. Danielle Trussoni
This took longer read because Pride and Prejudice got in the way.
It's a story about the fight against the Nephilims, the spawn of fallen angels. The history recounted in the story was very intricate, woven from so many threads of ancient lore.
I enjoyed the story, and based on the ending, looks like there will be a sequel. It is very visual, feels like the precursor of a screenplay.
For historical mystery buffs, this is a fresh read.
