Latvian knitting

I was on eBay a few weeks ago and saw a couple of books on Latvian knitting. I won them and am now the proud owner of Adisana (Latvian for Knit) and Adisanas un tamboresanas abece (Knitting and Crocheting ABCs). I can almost read the patterns. The pictures are a help, too. The first book also has charts for lace, cables, and color work. They both have stitch patterns and sweater patterns. Fun to discover. Google Translate does not have a large knitting vocabulary, however.

What a great find DeerlyMusical! My mom knit some patterns from Danish books. Charts always help and it is an adventure!
