So has anyone heard of any "buzz worthy" titles so far this year? Anything I should be keeping an eye out for?

I just started Beauty Queens (Libba Bray).

I've heard good things about The Romeo and Juliet Code by Phoebe Stone ... it's had several starred reviews already...just ordered a copy, I'm hoping it lives up to it's advance notices!

Definitely be on the lookout for Divergent by Veronica Roth, especially if you liked The Hunger Games. Here's my spoiler-free review -- the book comes out this May.

Divergent sounds amazing, Foggi. I've just pre-ordered a copy.
:-)

I'm not sure it's considered 'buzz worthy' but I am very much looking forward to the final installment in Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely series. Darkest Mercy is due out in March. Can't wait!

Divergent looks excellent, can't wait for that one. Great review!

Edited to get the right touchstone.

One of my favorites last year was Maze Runner and Scorch Trials by James Dashner. They are fast paced and very original plots leaving you wanting more and only answering some of your questions but not all. Across the Universe was also wonderful and original - can't wait for the sequel.

That's good to hear about Scorch Trials. I liked Maze Runner and agree completely with your description, but I wasn't sure whether he'd be able to stay at the same level in the sequel.

I've heard good things about Across the Universe, and will look for them one, too.

Some releases programmed for this year I'm excited about:

Stupid Fast by Geoff Herbach. (Still has no LT profile)
Memento Nora by Angie Smibert.
Shine by Lauren Myracle.
Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys.
Illegal by Bettina Restrepo. (Just released last month)

There are more, but I gotta run now.

>10 girlfromshangrila: Between Shades of Gray was a beautiful, though heartbreaking book that opened my eyes to events of which I was not previously aware had occured during WWII. I can't recommend it highly enough.

>11 Cailiosa:: I'm glad to hear that! I've been reading about the life of exiles in Siberia for a while, but this is the first YA fiction I've heard of on this topic. I'm very excited about it. =)

>12 girlfromshangrila:: The endless steppe is an older YA book (80s?), written by a woman who was exiled to Siberia as a girl. It reads like a novel but is based on her experiences in real life. I devoured that kind of thing while in my teens. I'll have to look out for Between shades of grey.

I love Libba Bray! How is Beauty Queens so far? Another series that I am looking forward to is all the Roaring 20's sequels to books like Pretty Young Things and Vixen.

Dead Reckoning by Charlaine Harris the 11th Sookie Stackhouse book will be released May 3rd! I really liked the series, I would say it is more adult than YA just because a couple of times it has sexual content that I wouldn't say was appropriate for young teenagers. Still a great vampire series, and a little different than most, and though I like True Blood, they are nothing alike!

Also, I really loved the Maze Runner and I cannot wait for The Death Cure to be released on October 11th! (Sooo far away..)
