I share with you a wonderful essay by the great Cynthia Ozick writing on the letters of the great Saul Bellow.

There are vivid excerpts depicting the cultue from which Bellow came to become a unique voice in literature.

this essay is marvelous!

Thanks for this essay Bert. They happen to be two of my favorite authors and to find one addressing the other is a real boon!

i am very pleased- you and I share a passion for both.

do you also like IB Singer?

Ozick and Bellow certainly seem related to him. I do know that Bellow was one his 1st translators.
