I would really like some suggestions for paranormal series, but no young adult books/series. I have read all of the heavy hitters...
LKH, JR Ward, J. Frost, K. Arthur, Briggs, Kenyon, Ione, Adrian, Cassidy, MJD, Harris, Hallaway...etc.
I am not a fan of Cole, Showalter or Frank.
Ideas for me?
Keri

@2>> I strongly second Kim Harrison's The Hollows series, and definitely make sure you read them in order or you get messed up on backstory and spoilers. There's a new installment coming out in just a couple days, and I'm anxiously awaiting it. My only quarrel is that the more recent books are becoming a little bit too serious at the expense of some of the snarky humor of the earliest installments.
There's also Cherie Priest. Check out her Eden Moore trilogy, again reading them in order. I like Eden's mixed-race background, which is somewhat unusual in paranormal thrillers.
Priest's post-Eden work seemed to be mainly steampunk and alternative history, neither of which subgenres I particularly care for, and as a result I hadn't read anything else by her. Just recently, though, she's started a new series about a vampire and master thief, Raylene Pendle (a/k/a "Cheshire Red"), and I absolutely love it. (The title of this first "Cheshire Red" book is Bloodshot.) Raylene's snarky voice reminds me of Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan, only a whole lot snarkier. No sex, but a fair amount of violence and copious use of the "f*ck" word. For those who don't like interminable series, I have a feeling from the plot of Bloodshot that Priest is moving toward a definite conclusion in a series of limited length.
EDIT to fix Touchstone.

I have to agree with booklizard on most the suggestions - I am a huge Cole fan and have read a lot of the names you suggested as well. I did like Christine Feehan but I found the books got better later in the series. If you get hooked on the first few books then you will really like the later books. I enjoyed Lynn Viehl as well - kinda reminded me of J.R. Ward in a way but very good stories - again I think these books keep getting better as the series go on which is always good. Kim Harrison I enjoyed the first several books or so but then it teetered off for me. I could maybe pick up hers if I dont have anything else to read.
I just started reading Larissa Ione and there is a mix of characters not set on just vamps but all sorts of demons and vamps are thrown in as well but pretty good series as well.

I had started K.M. Moning series...I wasn't very interested. But I started it again and it is not bad. does it pick up a bit after the first book (Darkfever)?

Yayyy! I'm just about halfway through Kim Harrison's new Pale Demon and liking it a lot better than the past couple of her "Rachel Morgan" books, which seemed to be losing the snarky humor from earlier in the series. I'm sure what I also like about Pale Demon is that Ivy is returning to a much more prominent role, and she's my Number One Love in the series.

You should DEFINITELY read The Cassandra Palmer Series by Karen Chance. It is AMAZING and more for adults versus young teens!!! (vampires, clairvoyants, time travel, magic, etc.).
