I joined the 2010 challenge and my posts fizzled out pretty quickly. I ended up reading about 35 books last year, which I felt pretty good about, considering the whole single mom, working full time plus...until my good friend informed me that she had read 348. My goal for this year, even if I don't make it to 75, is to at least document what I read. So, here we go...

JANUARY

1. The Huntress - Susan Carroll
2. Twilight of a Queen - Susan Carroll
3. Farenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury
4. History of the World in Six Glasses - Tom Standage
5. Great Expectations - Charles Dickens
6. The Agony and the Ecstasy - Irving Stone

An ok start...and with all the TV series starting this spring, the next couple months will be focused on that. I hate to say that I love TV so much... The Borgias on Showtime, and Camelot on Starz...so excited. But after February's reading list, I am all Borgia-ed out. Had to take a no-brainer break with some Janet Evanovich, who I love.

FEBRUARY

7. The Borgias - Alexandre Dumas
8. The Borgia Bride - Jeanne Kalogridis
9. Light on Lucrezia - Jean Plaidy
10. Poison - Sara Poole
11. Sizzling Sixteen - Janet Evanovich
12. I, Mona Lisa - Jeanne Kalogridis
13. Madonna of the Seven Hills - Jean Plaidy

MARCH

14. The Scarlet Contessa - Jeanne Kalogridis
15. Treasure Island - Robert Louis Stevenson
16. Wicked Appetite - Janet Evanovich
17. The Burning Times - Jeanne Kalogridis
18. The Art of Racing in the Rain - Garth Stein
19. I am the Messenger - Marcus Zusak
20. The Ghost Map - Steven Johnson
21. Watership Down - Richard Adams
22. Leonardo's Legacy - Stefan Klein

APRIL

23. I Capture the Castle - Dodie Smith
24. Assassination Vacation - Sarah Vowell
25. The Fiery Cross - Diana Gabaldon
26. The Graveyard Book - Neil Gaiman

So, February ends with more of the Borgias and Renaissance Italy, which I am finding very intriguing!! So much, that there is a trip to Italy in the works for next year. Yay!!

12. Madonna of the Seven Hills - Jean Plaidy
13. Poison: A Novel of the Italian Renaissance - Sara Poole

Off to a great start for March. The Scarlet Contessa by Jeanne Kalogridis, very intriguing. I have become obsessed with Renaissance Italy. So many interesting people lived in that time period and area... My little boy is now reading Treasure Island for his Classic book choice at school. I had never read it until now. It will be fun to be able to discuss it with him.

14. The Scarlet Contessa - Jeanne Kalogridis
15. Treasure Island - Robert Louis Stevenson

Had to have another no-brainer break... I really enjoyed Treasure Island! I never read it when I was younger, so it was fun to be able to read that with my little man. March is going pretty strong with four books so far....

16. Wicked Appetite - Janet Evanovich
17. The Burning Times - Jeanne Kalogridis

To finish out March...

18. The Art of Racing in the Rain - Garth Stein
19. I am the Messenger - Marcus Zusak
20. The Ghost Map - Steven Johnson
21. Watership Down - Richard Adams
22. Leonardo's Legacy - Stefan Klein

And I feel like I am dragging a bit to start April. I have been reading some heavy stuff. Watership Down was a nice break. I loved that book. So, to start April...

23. I Capture the Castle - Dodie Smith
24. Assassination Vacation - Sarah Vowell

I loved I Capture the Castle!!

Finally finished The Fiery Cross by Diana Gabaldon. I started this book last year and had to put it down because it was getting painful. Finished the last half...and it was better than the first half, but I am relieved to have it done...

25. The Fiery Cross - Diana Gabaldon
26. The Graveyard Book - Neil Gaiman
