I just got an 1885 edition of the letters of George Eliot arranged after her death by her husband Johnny Cross. It tells in her words how she met Lewes and began the relationship that was so important to her life, and her writing. It is in 4 volumes, and I have always wanted to read it. I was so happy to find a used copy through the internet, but my son tells me that I could have gotten a more recent edition for a lot less money. Has anyone else read it? If so, what do you think of it? I've only read volume 1 so far.
