is anyone reading this series or have read it? i read book 1 and really liked it but i wasnt sure about the rest of the series. i get really upset when i get invested in a series financially and emotionally to have them turn out to be bummers.. for example the sookie stakehouse series.. it started out amazing and now it seems to have become like a burden to ms harris to write.. anyways are there any good series if not the midnight breed series... i started the immortals after dark book 1... i have also started but didnt read the sequel to samson's lovely mortal.. but i have read twilight, black dagger brotherhood, and the almost human series. please no young adult series. thanks

I also read the first book because some friends recommended it.
Actually I didn't really like it and as I told them they were all saying I should keep on reading because the next books would be better.
I didn't go on until now but if you liked the first book I guess it might be just the right series for you (from what I heard).

thank you! i'm just really picky when it comes to series. i rely on customer reviews vs. editor reviews.

1> Don't invest financially - borrow them from the library!
Charlaine Harris said there would only be 2 more Sookie Stackhouse books. I enjoy them, but I have a hard time remembering them afterward.
Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series is really good. The first book is Halfway to the Grave.
Patricia Brigg's Mercy Thompson series is good although it's more about werewolves than vampires. It's so good, you kind of forget that it's not about vampires! LOL. First book is Moon Called.
Keri Arthur's Riley Jensen Guardian series is cool. There's a lot of casual sex in the first few books which is a turnoff for some people, but it's not gratuitous casual sex. She's half werewolf-half vampire and her wolf side makes her promiscuous. The first book is called Full Moon Rising.

Love JF's books and patricia briggs. I actually really liked the midnight breed series but I didn't love it in the beginning. Each book gets better which is always good
