I was looking to alias a work to the Sunday Times Insight Team, when I found that The Times, The Sunday Times, and the Sunday Times Insight Team are all combined into one page: http://www.librarything.com/author/timeslondon/names.

But the Sunday Times is not a Sunday edition of The Times: it's a separate newspaper, and while they're both now under common ownership that wasn't the case for long periods in the past. I feel that the two should be separated.

With regard to the Sunday Times Insight Team, I think it has a distinctive enough identity to keep it separate from the main Sunday Times. Looking at that Times page, there are about 15 sub-pages for the Insight Team, and it's noticeable that the titles listed for them are serious investigative works.

I'd like to separate that page into three: The Times itself, The Sunday Times, and the Sunday Times Insight Team. Does anyone else have any definite views on the subject?

I was too tired to respond when I first saw this question, but I think I agree that they should be separated. I think the Insight team has a clear enough identity that it should be separated as well. The relationship between the authors should be recorded (although it's probably forcing it a bit to use the actual relationship field).

I think you are absolutely right, Eveleen.

Okay, I'll go ahead with the separations.
edited to add:
The Times is still at
http://www.librarything.com/author/timeslondon.
The Sunday Times is now at http://www.librarything.com/author/timessunday.
The Insight Team is now at http://www.librarything.com/author/teamsundaytimesinsig

One point I'm still puzzling over is the fact that the top three titles on The Sunday Times page are actually by the Insight Team. I don't think it's correct to split the page and alias them in this case, since that would leave one author split as a subdivision of the other, rather than an eithor/or split.

I still need to add a short 'biography' of The Times; apart from that, feel free to do any additions or tweaking of the pages that you think would improve them.
