Welcome to the group! Congratulations on already passing 50 books for the year!

#4: That one sounds very good! Thanks for the review and recommendation. I will see if my local library has a copy.

I hope you get a summer break from school work!

#9: That one looks interesting. I will have to see if my local library has a copy. Thanks for the review and recommendation!

#11: I have already read that one, so I can dodge that particular BB.

I read that one years ago as well. I'm kind of like you. It's a book I'm glad that I read once, but it's not one I'd likely reread.
15alcottacre
#13: BB = Book Bullet
17alcottacre
#16: I need to get back to that series!
20alcottacre
#19: I like Karin Slaughter's books, so I will probably give that one a try at some point.
22alcottacre
I want to read the Rothfuss books, but not until the series is complete!
24alcottacre
#23: Yeah, 1000 in the books I actually own that I need to read. Over 10000 in the BlackHole - books I do not own that I want to read. Either way, it will be a while before I get to Rothfuss' books!
29alcottacre
You are reading a lot of interesting manga. I am just now learning about and reading some myself, so I appreciate your reviews. Thanks!
31alcottacre
I have only read a couple manga books thus far: Death Note, Volume 1 and Amulet, Volumes 1-3. As you can see, I really am a novice to the genre.

hi Mene
Haven't been around for some time and was just catching up on your thread.
I have the Dutch translation of Misjo, I collected all translated works of Helen Griffiths.

Reading in Dutch is sooo much easier!
I have dyslexia and somehow I have a "picture" of (nearly) all written words in my head, for Dutch that is. Although my English has improved much by participating on the internet, there are too many words without that "picture".

Wow I'm surprised. You have so many books yet we haven't read any of the same.
Maybe we have different styles. And that's impressive on the different languages. I feel stupid. Haha

-I only have this years books in my library...So I don't have any of my previous years in :/ so there could be more. I haven't looked in your library. And trust me I know. University and Work take up most of my time. I rarely read anymore. I just don't have the time.
I love the Harry Potter books. I've been to all 8 midnight premieres for the movies and I went to the book midnight sellings for 5-7...and yes I was dressed up as Harry! haha
That's insane! O.o I'm not that smart. I've been born and raised here in the USA...I took 3 years of spanish...can't remember a thing...one year of italian...don't remember much..and then 3 years of French which I know better then the rest, but that's because I was also president of my high schools French Club. Haha. Other than that I couldn't remember all those languages for the life of me!

See I'm new on here. I just joined last week :)
Wow you are very immaculate aren't you? haha I never have the time to do things on here.
How long has library thing been on the web?
I know in a lot of European countries it's required to learn English. Like in Germany and France you start learning it once you enter the 2nd grade. So when you are super young you do. Here it's not required but if you want to get into a good college (what we call universities) then you have to take a certain number of years of a language.
I really want to learn Russian. I probably will take it as an elective next year. But for an English speaking person to learn Russian it is very difficult. It's like a level 3 according to the United States government officials who work with foreign countries. Spanish, Italian, French, and German are about a level 1. It's easy to fit with our own language. But I think that it would be cool to learn Russian.

Oh so it's relatively new. I have been on Youtube for about 5 years. That's my main base. So I never found out about LibraryThing until I googled a current book that I'm reading. And then once I found it, I decided to give it a try.
I'm a huge Harry Potter fan though I couldn't ever read it in a different language. My brain's dead. Even if I took a Russian class I'm not so sure I would understand it. They even have a different alphabet and everything. It's too much haha. My Step Mother lived in Russia for a few years and her family can speak it but that's about it.
I have looked at the Russian wiki before many times haha xD

Wow, let me know when it is published!
I wondered the same, she left room for a next book...
But a stand-alone would be nice too, as I like her style, easy to read, nice between more heavy books.
