Yes, I did. Saw the movie too, which was a dissapointment. The book I liked. Blair's career is an inspiration for thrillers. I hope sometime someone will dive real deep into the Kelly case.

psst. touchstone is wrong. This is the one you want The Ghost. I haven't read this, but I've read a couple of Harris's ancient Rome novels so I might have to investigate this one to see how he translates into modern times.

I read it, and thought it was perfectly serviceable, but less gripping than his earlier present-day thrillers, Fatherland and Enigma. As with both those and Pompeii, though, I was fascinated by the detailed background that Harris wove through the story -- in this case, what it's like to ghost-write the story of another person's life. I also, as a sometime-resident of Martha's Vineyard, enjoyed the precision with which Harris captured the feeling of the place in the deep fall and winter, when the tourists have gone home.
It occurs to me, @2, that someone more familiar than I am with Blair's career and the Kelly case (I know little about the former, nothing at all about the latter) would find the book more engrossing . . . even without that background, however, I'd recommend it.
