I've been putting off writing this review as I really didn't know how to word this. I really wish it had been more clear that this was not only a "romance" novel but an erotic romance novel and not something that I would normally read. While well written, I was totally unprepared for the explicit and detailed sex scenes. NOT your usual historical romance, and for someone not used to reading this genre, it seemed to me that the historical bits were only there to hold together a series of sexual exploits. I didn't finish it. But all things considered, if this is something that you would read, I bet this is good one for you! SO put it on your list of books to read!! :)

I thank LibraryThing and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review a book, as this was my first "get" - I hope I'll have another chance in the future and will do a bit more research on the books that I "request" on the list.

Haven't read this but from the title it seems a complement (mirror?) to Ars Amatoria by Ovid. (The Art of Love); which is advice to a man on how to seduce a woman. Such concerns go back a long way.
