Technically a July purchase, plus three ARCs:

* The Bride Wore Scarlet by Liz Carlyle (historical romance; she has been an autobuy for me)

* No Proper Lady by Isabel Cooper (paranormal historical romance - magic and time travel to 1888 England; not usually my cuppa, but sounded interesting)

* Lord and Lady Spy by Shana Galen (historical romance a la Mr. and Mrs. Smith - really hope it's not too cutesy)

* The Wedding Affair by Leigh Michaels (historical romance)

Probably nothing more here unless I come across an ARC.

This week they called off half my shifts at the bookstore because sales have been slow and they're trying to make payroll. Unfortunately, August is the end of my year and I have no vacation left. I'm crossing my fingers that they won't do this to me again this month.

Succumbed to B&N's online sale yesterday and bought:

Season 5 of Will & Grace
One Day by David Nicholls
Bury Your Dead by Louise Penny

Bookstore's been tough this month: more work to do and less time to do it in. I'm behind in my tasks. But at least they haven't cut any more whole shifts.

So I made a small purchase:
* Tolstoy and the Purple Chair by Nina Sankovitch (subtitled "my year of magical reading," to give you a clue of Didion's influence - a memoir of tragedy and reading; not my usual cuppa, but one of the managers was RAVING about it)

* An Impartial Witness by Charles Todd (this is a Crawford, not a Rutledge; I own most if not all of his other titles)

And took home an ARC that I may end up returning to the store: Everything I Know about Love I Learned from Romance Novels by Sarah Wendell

I didn't regret my purchase until last night, when I got a flat tire from something in the library parking lot. {sigh}
