My apologies if I duplicated this, couldn't find a September reading thread...

I just finished reading Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.

I just finished Bran Hambric: The Specter Key

Now reading The Near Witch

I read Mandy by Julie Andrews Edwards (a childhood favorite), and Sloppy Firsts by Megan McCafferty (I wasn't really impressed). I also listened to Moon Over Manifest by Clare Vanderpool, which was nice, but not fantastic.

Im still reading Passage by Connie Willis.

I'm reading White Jenna

I finished The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making and thought it was okay. I have been very preoccupied getting ready for school and I think I would have liked it better otherwise.

Now I am reading The Last Lecture.

#6: I loved The last Lecture compski! Hope you'll enjoy it too!

I am reading Masquerade, the sequel to Blue Bloods...I needed something light to read and I may start reading the second one in A song of Ice and Fire (A Clash of Kings) which I'm pretty sure I will love.

I'm reading Drums of Autumn

(Is it sad that I had to go get the book to figure out how to spell "autumn"?)

#8 -- It's one of those words that just looks wrong. I wrote it somewhere earlier today, and then found myself really wondering if that could possibly be correct!

I like to pronounce the "n". Ditto "Wednesday".

Americans get automatic points just for using Autumn instead of Fall. Correct spelling is bonus points.

8-10: There is also a pretty common four letter word that uses the "mn" combination. Do you pronounce the "n" in that word too, MrA?

Darn it. Now you've all made me question whether I've been spelling that word correctly.

BTW, I'm reading Mort. Very funny, but I miss having chapters so that I know when to stop.

I finished Heaven to Betsy last weekend, and started Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter earlier this week. I'm almost finished with Half the Sky, and jumped the gun a bit, starting my next nonfiction read two nights ago: Professor Mommy: Finding Work-Family Balance in Academia.

Over the past few days I read Wrapped by Jennifer Bradbury, and A Tale of Two Castles by Gail Carson Levine -- both were good.

10- I like Autumn better than Fall. Fall makes me think that it's the season when people get injuries.

13- I'm happy you liked A Tale of Two Castles, foggi! I liked that book, but I couldn't get anyone else in my family to read it. :)

Now I am reading Beyonders: A World Without Heroes by Brandon Mull. It's very good so far, and has one of the most accurate depictions of a homeschooled character that I've seen in a book.

Not fair! I'm reading Mort, which both you and your brother told me to read. You know I'm a slow, easily distracted reader. :oP

So far this month I've read Bloodlines, the first book in Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy spin-off series, Alexandra Adornetto's second book, Hades, and reread Cinda Williams Chima's The Demon King. I'm rereading Chima's Seven Realms books one and two before beginning the newest book, The Gray Wolf Throne.

I'm listening to Half-Blood Prince, read by Stephen Fry.

15- You weren't the only member of the family I said should read the book. :oP

I'm reading Ready Player One, and it is really good so far! Gamers in particular will love it -- also anyone with an interest in/nostalgia for '80s pop culture.

I heard that was good, foggi. The author came to the local bookstore, and they were raving about it.

It's really good -- I have stepped away from it for a few minutes because it was getting pretty intense, but it's the sort of book that I might find myself staying up too late reading, if I'm not careful!

At the beginning of the month I read When God Was a Rabbit, which was ok, but not what I thought it was going to be. (I really should stop having expectations!!)

I am now almost finished with Island of Wings, which is a wonderful novel based on the true story of a minister and his wife going to be missionaries on the outer hebridean island of St Kilda.

20-22: That's definitely on my to read list, as soon as I get around to downloading it! Several of my favorite bloggers have discussed its awesomeness.

Ready Player One does look good; I ordered it at our library. Right now, on a recommendation, I'm reading Unwind by Neal Schusterman. Hard to describe, but teenagers are volunteered for death so their parts can be used to help others.

I started rereading the Harry-Potter-series together with my boyfriend.

Finished Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter last week, just in time for book club. It was a stunning read, touching on a number of emotions and human elements: secrecy, friendship, loyalty, guilt, racism. I highly recommend it!

I'm still reading Professor Mommy, which is good if a bit disheartening at times. As I am preparing my dossier this month for promotion, it's hitting very close to home on many fronts, but fortunately is serving more toward saving my sanity than adding stress.

This morning I started The Anatomy of Ghosts. I'm not very far yet, but it seems promising.

Well besides reading my Spanish textbook, various books for my American Literature and Fiction 1 classes, and reading an annotated bible for my Bible as Literature class, I'm still reading The Near Witch by Victoria Schwab. But I'm almost finished...not sure what I'm going to read next though.

The Gray Wolf Throne was so good! I'm glad the author was given an extend on the series. There will be at least one more book, if not two. Now I'm reading The Maze Runner. Although I've barely had time to read more than a few minutes here and there, I can't leave my book behind anywhere. It's very addicting already. This is the first book I've read by James Dashner.

Just finished reading New York to Dallas by JD Robb. Another excellent "In Death" novel and I look forward to the next one.

Haven't been on LT in while... nice to be back though :)

I'm reading American Slavery, American Freedom by Edmund S. Morgan and The Fifth Chinese Daughter by Jade Snow Wong. Both are for American Studies classes and I'm really liking both of them. :)

34foggidawn
Sep 22, 2011, 9:01 pm

I'm reading Swoon. It's dreadful; I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I have to read it, because I have to review its sequel, and I feel like I need to know what happened in the first book to do that. But reading this dreck is making me seriously cranky.

I'm also reading Cesar's Rules by Cesa Milan, to see if he has any insights into Sophie's little brain.

I read The Scorch Trials though may have enjoyed The Maze Runner better. Still, I can't wait for book three to be released!

So far this month I've read The Goddess Test, Hush, Hush, Wicked Lovely, and began on Crescendo, and Ink Exchange. I kind of reach a lull the first few months of school. Now that my box of national board material is here, it may end up being a little less than that until the process is over.

I'm reading Witch Child, I remember reading it in jr. high, which would be about 6 years ago, and really liking it. Now I remember why. It's completely engrossing, just wish I had more time to read!
