Does anyone in this group read electronic books/digital books? I started by downloading the Kindle reader to my desktop and then helping myself to the free books on Amazon. My husband bought me a Kindle on a recent business trip to the US. I'm so hooked! I read a lot more now because the Kindle is so portable. I can even load documents and manuscripts to it by emailing them to my Kindle address.
I'm not touting this particular e-reader. I'm sure other brands are just as good or better.
I used to criticize the idea of digitized books because I thought it was a betrayal to real books. I've turned 180 degrees now--with the fast pace of life, I rarely have the luxury of sitting in a comfortable chair to immerse myself in the pleasurable act of reading in quiet solitude. Now it's in doctors' waiting rooms, waiting in line to pay my bills, waiting in line to transact at the bank...lots of waiting!
