I've found the LibraryThing Javascript code to embed a search box on web pages. Unfortunately, this doesn't work with Google sites, they won't support the introduction of that code.

As far as I can tell, the only gadget supported for LibraryThing on Google is display of random or newly added book titles.

I would LOVE to move my local crafts guild's library to LibraryThing, but I really could use an embedded search interface for Google sites to put on the guild's web page.

Anything I've missed? Any plans for making something like this?

A quick google shows that javascript is still disallowed for Google Sites. Probably for good reason as I host a couple hundred social networking sites and most of them, with how the software is setup, allowing javascript is a security nightmare.

Having said that, this thread mentions that you can convert the javascript into a Google Gadget:

Looks like they had issues though getting it to run.

I haven't tried such a thing. Since I have access to the code, we usually hardcode in something which of course wouldn't work here.

Maybe someone can take a shot at this.
