Went to the Brookyn Book Festival last Sunday 9/18 and attended some interesting readings and events including a crime fiction panel that included Peter Blauner, Susan Isaacs, Jonathan Santlofer (moderator), Persia Walker and one of my personal favs, Lawrence Block. The panelists were asked by the moderator what was the strangest audience question at a book reading, and Lawrence Block said "What do your characters do between books?". Bought his new book Getting Off, got it signed, and then he graciously signed three first editions from my collection: After the First Death, A Stab in the Dark and his first book published under his own name, Mona (A Gold Medal PBO). Had a few nice words with him and walked away quite happy. It's great to meet an author you collect in person.
