I've read Intertwined, which has every supernatural creature you could think of but the main focus is on vampires (main character isn't one though). Quite a bit of romance but it's more action-oriented.
Then, there's The Silver Kiss which is short but very very nice. Suspenseful and cute romance
Vampire Academy which is a series with three different types of vampires. Plenty of romance and a very "tough-girl" main character.
Storm Front is the first book of a series which is about a wizard but vampires will play a big part later in the plot. Pretty funny (though a little dark) and has some romance. Also action. Lots of action.

I agree, all the characters are really interesting! I haven't started reading the spin-off but I'm glad Adrian's in it. I feel sorry for the poor guy :O

Vampire Academy - a really really really awesome series. It's funny, action-packed, and a fairly nice romance (still don't like what happened with Adrian though). It's basically about a Dhampir (half-vampire) girl who's in a school that trains Dhampirs to protect fullblooded vampires from Strigoi (vampires who kill humans and other vampires).

For me, after the Twilight phase, vampire books were popping up everywhere so they were hard to miss. Even before that, I always liked reading books about supernatural creatures and the ones I like naturally get stuck in my head :)

Yep yep, and it's also pretty cool how authors choose to portray vampires in different ways. Some of my friends don't like it though and prefer Bram Stoker's version of vampires. Which do you prefer?

Is anyone here interested in Zombies? I read The Enemy recently and it was very good. A world wide epidemic turns everyone over the age of 16 in flesh-eating, zombie like creatures. The book follows a group of young people as they cross London, trying to reach a place of safety that they have been told of.

Have you read the books by Alyxandra Harvey? The Drake Chronicles is all about vampires. You can check out Alyxandra Harvey's website here. I really like them and just got the most recent for my Kindle.

Tavaresden,

i like the different versions of vampires that authors create. My dad always says none of that stuff makes since cuz he only has the belief of vampires in Dracula(of course imaginary. lol) but i like the varrieties that authors create, it gets boring reading the same thing over and over again its good for vampire to be different in everyones mind.

Taz: So true, it really helps keep me interested in vampire books! I am cautious of ones that are clearly riding the Twilight fan wave, which are basically about Bella and Edward but with different names
