A new anthology of Jane-centric fiction is coming out next month! It is called 'Jane Austen Made Me Do It'. There is a web site up. Here is a link to the synopsis of the stories:

I got a copy and enjoyed it overall but as with any anthology some stories were better than others. There was a mix of contemporary, paranormal, Regency and using Jane Austen - or in one case, Jane Austens naval officer brother as characters. My favorite was 'What Would Austen Do?' the contemporary young adult story - actually it is billed as an excerpt from a book they plan - by Jane Rubino and Caitlen Rubino Bradway. They wrote 'Lady Vernon and Her Daughter' which i loved but that was an adaptation of Austens 'Lady Susan' and written in a very classic style. The short story was very modern and written in the 1st person from the POV of a 15 year old boy.
I also liked the two stories that told how two couples - one were Mr and Mrs Bennet and the other were Admiral and Mrs Croft - met as young people.

"What Would Austen Do?" was brilliant--I do hope they sell that book. I also liked Janet Mullany's story about the Beatles a great deal, but yes--many of the others were meh.
