Group Read/Book Discussion

I'm new to the Game of Thrones and have worked my way up to Dance with Dragons. I realize you guys have been dormant for a while, but figured with the HBO series you might be revivable. Is anyone inclined towards a group read or discussion of any of the books in the series?

I'm up for discussion on GoT, Varielle. I've been wanting to reread the series for years now, but I lent my copies out and it doesn't look like I'll get them back. The TV series inspired me to buy the ebook versions, so I'm working my way through the series again, aiming for Dance with Dragons.

Dance with Dragons was great but frustrating since everybody is in some state of peril and the thought that I might have to wait another five years makes me sigh. Martin isn't that young a man so I hope he doesn't drag it out or leave it unfinished. I listened to the audio version of Game of Thrones first and am now re-reading the book. I sometimes drift with the audio and missed some detail. I can't justify the expense of HBO, so am waitiing for the release of the DVD, which apparently HBO will put off as long as possible since they are apparently making wheelbarrows full of money off of it. I've also been looking for the prequel The Hedge Night. Apparently it's out of print and used ones are selling for upwards of $80. Not quite sure why.

The Hedge Knight is one of the short stories in Legends, which is available from Amazon for $13. The Sworn Sword is in Legends II for $8.

I blew through all of the books and initially did the audio book of GoT, and am now going back and doing a slow read. Things I didn't notice the first time, i.e. minor events that seemed like background and minor characters who seemed like filler, later on become major catalysts and players. Everybody has secrets and tons and tons of baggage. I'm just up to the melee where the mountain tries to kill Loras.

I've just finished A Dance With Dragons - I can't believe he went on a killing spree just before the end of the book! How many characters can he possibly kill before there is no story left??
