Let's stare at the bright side now. What was the Best comic book adaptations into movie?
2wookiebender
Sin City, without a doubt in my mind.

I thought Road to Perdition turned out pretty good, although Tom Hanks took a little getting used to in the mobster role.

V for Vendetta; captured the basic essence of the source material quite well.

I also enjoyed V for Vendetta, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and Kick Ass were fun. I actually like a lot of comic movies.
It's easy to agonize over some films, but i really liked Spiderman 2, X - Men First Class (for the most part), Iron Man, and the last two Batman movies.

I'm another one who really liked the Scott Pilgrim movie. Sin City of course was a lot darker, but awfully good.
I also liked Spider-Man, the recent Batmans, Iron Man, and X-Men First Class. I started to mention Thor, but those first 20 minutes or so were too painful.

Ghost World's escaped mention, so far.

Yeah, Ghost World. For me, it is a case in which the movie worked better than the comic itself.

Lots of good movies being listed. There's also American Splendour which I really liked, but have never gotten very far with the book.

7> I always heard Ghost World was quite good, but never got around to watching it or reading the comic.
I also never read any of the HellBoy comics, but I enjoyed the movies, especially the visuals in the second one.

Spider-Man 2 is great for me. I almost cry every time I see the people carrying the almost dead Spidey after the train fight. It is iconic! And the translation of the classic Ditko sequence was done very good.
I think that a movie adaptation to be good does not need to be perfectly the same, but must translate and communicate between medias, maintaining the core feel or message. For me V for Vendetta is great, besides the fact that is not the same as the comic.

The New Captain America is Awesome. It kind of united all medias previous representations of Cap, like Warren Ellis would do with Planetary or Geoff Johns in Green Lantern: Rebith.

The Incredibles! Okay, I know it wasn't a comic first, but it was great.
I loved Ghost World, though it differed a lot from the graphic novel (which I also love).

Given that The Incredibles drew most of its inspiration from comic books, I think we should allow it in.
Captain America was also a good re-boot, as was the first Iron man.

I think that the All-time best movie adaptation is Blade by Stephen Norrington, once that at time that first movie was made, Blade wasn't even being published. They recreated the character with a hype that was not reflected by original one.

I totally agree with everyone who cited Ghost World. It manages to stay true to the spirit of the comic without being restrictively devoted to the source material.

Let`s wait for Tintin

Archie: Return to Riverdale! Okay, just kidding. Though it was fun.
I'd say Spiderman, just because you could tell what a comic nerd Sam Raimi is.
