Does anyone know of a Western to read that is set in Christmas time, but that isn't sappy? I want to get into the spirit through a good Western. BTW, I'm going to Tombstone on 12/17 to visit a friend and finish up my Christmas shopping. I'm looking forward to it. Thank you.

Sorry I have nothing to recommend from personal experience, but you might find something in this tagmash :

Christmas Out West edited by Bill Pronzini looks like a possibility, if you like short story collections.

I found Christmas Out West on Amazon, and am reading it. It's just what I wanted! Thanks for the recommendation. Published in 1991, the first short story "How Santa Claus Came to Simpson's Bar" by Bret Harte was written in 1902. I like the way language is used, almost Dickensian but definitely a Western turn of phrase and word.

Christmas Out West was definitely not sappy, and in fact there were some good killings on Christmas Day! I enjoyed it.
