So here it is the first book read and finished this year, quite an interesting one I will definitely look up more work by this author.

1- The snowman - Jo Nesbo
I like this book. It was the first one I read by the author and I will definitely want to read more. It's a good suspense, Harry Hole is a inspector with flaws, but he is able to piece together bits and pieces of information to find the killer. After receiving a strange letter from a killer known as the snowman, Harry Hole embark on a quest to find and arrest him. He manages to link together different missing people plus some murders. Little does he know that the killer may be close to him than he expect

2 - the hunger games - Suzanne Collins
I have had this book in my to read list since 2009. It was about time I got to it, and I'm happy to say that I liked it. It reminded me of the Percy Jackson serie, even if the stories are very different. I liked that for a change, the main character was female.
In a distant future where North America is not called north America anymore, The hunger Games take place to remind the people what happens when they try to rebel against the governing forces. The city (country or state?) or Panerm is divide in 12 district with each their own field of specialty every year they have to gives tribute (1 boy and 1 girl) to participate in the biggest realite show there is. The catch only one tributes must survive. This is the story of Katniss, the girl tribute for district 12 and her fight for survival

4- 38 Bar blues - C.R. Avery
C.R. Avery has a way with words that makes me jealous. I love reading his poetry and wish I could read more. A great Canadian Artist that is worth discovering!!!

5-Catching fire - Suzanne Collins
Second book in the series. Again we follow Katniss Everdeen in the aftermath of the hunger games. Her move to the victors village in disctrict 12, her touring of the other district in the victors tour with Peeta, her relationship with Gale, and with the growing unsastifaction from the district against the Capitol which leads to uprising. Finally a had Hit on Katniss, when the president announce the quarter quells

6-the Mockingjay - Suzanne Collins
Final volume in the series, we see here the conclusion to the fighting that ensue after Katniss's rebelious attempt in the hunger Game.
War rages between the capitol and the district and Katniss is now secured in district 13 and see herself in demand for a role she didn't ask to be: the face of the rebellion, the Mockingjay. With Peeta prisonner of President Snow, Katniss will try her best to do what is expected of her.

7- Game of thrones - George R. R. Martin -
This was awesome, I devoured this book and couldn't wait to start the second book. It reads so fast, so don't be afraid of its size. It follows as the tv series.

8 - Clash of kings - George R.R. Martin
Still as good as the previous book. It leaves me wanting more!! THe book is huge and can seem quite scary, but everything is so interesting that you can barely believe that you went through the 900 plus pages so fast.
Chaos reign in the land of Westeros, after the death of King Robert Baratheon, 4 kings have risen to claim the throne. Battles ensue, in the end, everything can change.
Up on the wall, things don't look so bright either, the wildlings are stirring and the few mans left must protect the rest of the realm.

9 - Man Overboard! - Curtis Parkinson
I would suggest this book to a kid who is looking for its first novel. It really is targeted to a younger audience and I felt it lack a bit of description, background story and even it the timeline is kinda of shady. We get into the story right away without any idea of who the characters are nor do we get a bit of info on the period of time it was written in. The book is not bad, but has I stipulated, it's the perfect kinda book for a pre-teen looking for a good first novel.

10 - Storm of swords - George R.R. Martin
Again, it was awesome. Has we get to see what happened a bit everywhere while the battle was raging in King's Landing, we don't get confused in time. After reading the foreword from the author I thought that it would get a bit confusing, but not at all. Everything seems to make sense in your head. There are twist certain to flabergast anyone!! Can't wait to start the next book!

11-Clash of kings - George R.R. Martin

12 -Dance with Dragons - George R.R. Martin

Those two book took me quite a while to read, and probably set me back on the number of book I wanted to read this year. But I can't be happier to have completed this series (for now... Now patiently waiting the following book). Hopefully, things will pick up again starting for now

At this rate, I feel confident I'll reach the number of book I read last year. I will not again reach my 50 books goal but at least I will not have read less.
