IRC/Jabber Server?

I wonder if there is or has been any talk of creating an official (or semi-official) IRC channel (perhaps on freenode) or jabber server. I know that I would love to chat with other LibraryThing users, and it would provide an outlet for people with quick questions.

I would be happy to assist in the creation of such a venue.
